John Moss - John Moss EP - Phonetic VMM 7/10

Phonetic is a label which prides itself on its “Ibiza Sound”. Although I think the label can be a bit hit and miss with too many of their tracks edging towards cheese. This self named EP consists of four tracks with sounds ranging from tribal tech house to banging techno and acid. Unfortunately only one cuts the mustand ‘Reach’. The other three all have elements which are nice but either don’t grab you or get irritating. The good track ‘Reach’ is a massive peak time acid led number with a quality sub and thumping kick. It fuses the acid together with some tribal percussion and clever drops.
