VMM RECOMMENDED VMM 9/10 - Tuunee - I’ll Be (Right There) - Manchester Underground Music

This is the second entry for MUM in this months reviews. ‘I’ll Be (Right There)’ is another perfect example of the consistency this label has. Tuunees’ original is a bouncy bassline led number with a selection of bright pads to add depth and gentler feel. Tuunee uses a lot of filters and flanger on the top end which in the wrong hands can mean disaster, on this occasion its worked and allows the track room to flow. A male vocal in the breaks adds more suspense ready for the drop. Mark Holmes remixes this one too and he does another great job, providing the best mixes in the package. The 2012 rework is deep and progressive, using the pads, vocal and synth lines to great affect. For me though the pick of the bunch is the vocal mix Mr Holmes has done. A huge drawn out bassline and use of the metallic synth line draws you in and doesn’t let go. There is a Mindform remix for those who prefer the stripped back tech-house sound.
