This EP really shows off the skills of David Mayne. His production quality and melody lines are woven together to produce a quality EP. Both tracks are full of melodies that are creative and not monotonous. Both tracks are on the deeper side of the modern day trance style and can both be a great way to start a DJ set. Avalon is a slightly more aggressive take on a deeper trance sound and has a lot of groove. Wonderland is a little more relaxed and can be used to great effect for easing the listener into a DJ set. It is based around the I, IV,I VI chord progression but varies this basic progression a lot throughout the song so as to ensure that listener is never bored. Wonderland is far more mellow based around the I,III,IV,V progression. The pads in this song are gentle and smooth and create a create atmosphere for the listener to enjoy. The mastering on both tracks is crisp and clear which makes for a really great sounding release.
